‘Founders’ Chenin Blanc

TASTING NOTES

Bright colour, light yellow-green. On the nose, ripe passion fruit, guava and pineapple flavours, followed by refreshing citrus notes. Well-balanced, full fruity palate and crisp acidity. Fresh minerality on the finish.

PAIRING

Chicken dishes, salads and light lunches. Also brilliant with mild, soft cheeses.

Type of Soil Soil types vary from Hutton, Clovelly, Sandy fernwood, and Kroonstad, but Malmesbury Shale dominates, with small patches of granite and Table Mountain sandstone.
Winemaking The grapes were harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness. The skins, pips and stems were removed and the juice was then fermented at controlled temperatures of between 13°C to 14°C with aromatic yeast strains. Following fermentation the wine was stabilised, filtered and bottled, in order to preserve the freshness.
