Vinification |
Hand-picked grapes from 15 to 30 year old vineyards, from 50 different parcels in the Chianti Classico area, grown between 220 and 550 meters above sea level. 36 different biotypes of Sangiovese grapes are harvested, from which 18 are vinified separately and go through exclusive refinement in the cellar. Fermentation is carried at 26°C to 28°C and maceration lasts between 15 to 18 days. A 20 months ageing period takes place in small French oak barrels (225 lt, 60% new). |

The result of 40 years of research has resulted on a wine with a stunningly well proportioned and elegant body, with dark berry aromas and fresh spice flavors, that deliver a smooth taste on the palate.
