Tasting notes
Clos de Papes has a long history of achievements, but Vincent Avril takes the quality of the estate to a higher level. He cultivates the grapes organically, and reduces yields to 19 hectares per hectare (compared to the Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux it is about 30 hectares). Grapes are plucked from the stem, not using new oak barrels, only using large wooden jars, bringing a rich but extremely delicate wine. Clos Des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red 2012 was ranked 4th in the 100 best wine bottles in the world by Wine Spectator magazine in 2014.
