Vinification

The delectable aromas derive from the soak-on-the-skins maceration process applied to Pinot Noir grapes. Laurent-Perrier derived this knowledge from the skills it acquired making still Coteaux Champenois wines, for which extensive knowledge of Pinot Noir vinification is crucial.
During this phase of the winemaking process, the pigments in the grape skins, known as anthocyanins, colour the grape juice. It is these anthocyanins that give Cuvée Rosé its distinctive raspberry colouring with hints of salmon-pink. More importantly, though, maceration teases out the characteristic soft berry-fruit aromas.

Food & Wine Pairing

Alexandra Rosé 2004 is reserved for the finest dishes: tempura of langoustine, roasted lobster and scallops with black truffle.

Vintage 2004:
Despite periods of hail and storms during the spring and summer, September’s beneficial warm and dry weather saw an abundant, well-matured harvest of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes (the former being more heterogenous).

A delicate, pale salmon pink colour.
Persistent and fine bubbles.
A complex nose with hints of wild strawberries and red currant jam, followed by notes of candied fruits.
Elegant and refined, this wine shows great minerality. Its soft and dry texture leads into a long finish indicative of berry fruit.
